Vendor Information

Tool Description:

A robust implementation of the industry standard, TCP/IP for QNX* includes the full suite of familiar utilities and support for traditional applications. Two sizes of IP managers are available: the 32-bit socket IP manager, or if you want all the services of socket except NFS, choose socklet, a light-weight and cost-effective IP manager with a small footprint.

TCP/IP for QNX supports PPP and SLIP, so any serial port on a QNX node can be a link to the Internet, the company WAN, and so on. A variety of protocols are supported (TCP, UDP, IP, and ICMP) with a performance of 1.01 Mbytes/s (on 10M Ethernet). Internet services are supported over a variety of networks such as Ethernet, ATM, FDDI, and Token Ring.

The Runtime system comes with installation, management, server, and client programs. The Development system comes with a Berkley Socket API (to allow peer-to-peer communications), routines for establishing communication channels, transferring data, and manipulating network data files. Options include Watcom's C/C++ compiler and tools, and a large selection of drivers for easy access to specific networking hardware.
